Clarke shows support for SCA

And head coach praises work of Albion Foundation

STEVE Clarke took time out of his busy schedule to cast his eye over a recent Sporting Club Albion (SCA) training night.

The Baggies head coach observed a variety of sessions, including the club’s PAN disability and powerchair football teams, in addition to SCA’s ladies and girls outfits.

Clarke met with players, staff, volunteers and parents after training and posed for photographs, signed autographs and answered questions.

And the 49-year-old boss praised the high-quality work of the Albion Foundation through SCA - the official representative club for all sports outside of the Baggies' professional football department.

“The Albion Foundation and its hard-working staff are a real credit to the football club and it was good to spend an evening with the Sporting Club Albion coaches and players," he said.

“It is a great set-up which is providing local people of all abilities with the chance to play the sports they love and hopefully fulfil their potential.

“There was real enjoyment on the faces of all the players. Everyone was striving to be the best they can be.”

Albion Foundation director, Rob Lake, added: “I was so proud taking Steve around to show him the great work we are doing day in, day out.

“The staff and volunteers are exceptional and it was great for them to feel appreciated by Steve.

“Steve was different class.

“I cannot speak highly enough of how much time he had for everyone, making sure nobody went home disappointed.

“I know from talking to him he was amazed at what we do and was impressed with the whole set up.”
