Albion Ladies 4 Derby Ladies 2

Baggies pick up important three points

NATASHA Baptiste fired a hat-trick as Sporting Club Albion Ladies sealed a 4-2 victory over Derby in the FA Women’s Premier League (Northern Division) at The Grove on Sunday.

Emily Owen was also on the scoresheet as the Baggies secured their first league win in four games to go within five points of second-placed Preston having played one less game.

Ladies manager Dave Lawrence was pleased with his side’s performance – reserving special praise for Baptiste.

“It was important we got the three points, based on the fact Derby are in a similar position to us,” said Lawrence.

“We know we’ve got three games where we can pick up points now.

“Tasha Baptiste was excellent and got three really good goals.”

The Baggies travel to sixth-placed Blackburn on Sunday (ko 2pm). For more information on Sporting Club Albion Ladies follow their official Twitter feed @SCALadies or like them on Facebook www.facebook.com/AlbionLadies
