ALBION are delighted to announce they will play Italian top-flight outfit Bologna in their sole home summer friendly on Saturday, August 10 (ko 3pm).The Baggies will round off their pre-season programme by hosting the Serie A side at The Hawthorns a week before they kick-off their fourth successive Barclays Premier League campaign.
The seven-times Italian champions finished 13th on 44 points last term.
Bologna, nicknamed rossoblù because of the red and blue striped shirts they wear, are the sixth most successful team in Serie A history.
They are currently managed by Stefano Pioli, and captained by Italy international Alessandro Diamanti.
Albion will also be heading to Ireland to take on Premier Division team Cork City in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, August 6 (ko 7.45pm).
Steve Clarke’s men will face the 2005 champions, who finished sixth last season, at their Turner's Cross stadium.
It will be a trip down memory lane for Shane Long, who made two appearances for City during the 2004/05 season before moving to Reading.
