Baggies face tough task in Austria trip opener against Hannover 96
STEVE Clarke will select his starting XI from a full squad for tonight’s clash with Hannover 96 at the home of Austrian club FC Gleisdorf 09 (ko 7pm local time).It will be the Baggies’ first official pre-season game after beating Tamworth 4-0 in a behind-closed-doors training match on Saturday.
And they face a tough task against the German Bundesliga outfit, who finished ninth last term, reached the last 32 of the Europa League – and start their domestic season a week earlier than Albion, against Wolfsburg on August 10.
Only long-term absentees Zoltan Gera and George Thorne will not be involved as they continue their recovery from serious knee injuries.
Admission on the gate for Albion fans is €10 adults (approx £8.60), €7 students (approx £6) and 15 to 19 year olds, and free for under 15s.
