Injury boost for Baggies

Reid and Odemwingie back for cup and trio hopeful of derby return

ALBION will be boosted by the return of Steven Reid and Peter Odemwingie for tomorrow’s FA Cup third-round replay with QPR (ko 8pm).

The Hawthorns clash comes too soon for Shane Long (dead leg), Claudio Yacob and Marc-Antoine Fortune (both hamstring).

But the trio are hopeful of being fit to face Villa in Saturday’s Barclays Premier League derby (ko 5.30pm).

Reid has missed the last seven games due to the shin injury he suffered at Arsenal, while Odemwingie was forced to sit out Saturday’s trip to Reading due to a knock.

Baggies joint-assistant head coach Kevin Keen said: “For Shane and Claudio tomorrow comes too soon but certainly for the weekend we’re hopeful those two will be in and around it.

“Steven Reid and Peter are back in the squad for tomorrow so those lads that got injured around the Christmas period, when we had all those games, are starting to come back.

“Marco will also hopefully be available for the weekend.

“Hopefully by Saturday we’ll have the majority of the boys back apart from Zoltan."
