Lukaku learns lessons from DVDs

And striker explains goal celebration with Odemwingie

ROMELU Lukaku has revealed his Saturday night viewing consists of a DVD of Albion’s latest game to help analyse his performance.

Not content with his two-goal heroics against the Black Cats at the weekend he took home a copy of the whole match to study where he can improve his game.

And the powerhouse striker has also requested extra training sessions this week as he is ineligible to play against his parent club, Chelsea, on Saturday (ko 3pm).

“I just want to be as complete as any player wants to be,” said Lukaku.

“I don't think now I can say 'this is good.'

“I'm left footed but I still work on my left foot every day.

“My heading and stuff, my defensive part of the game, my skill rate, everything I work on.

“You can never say something is perfect.

“I think Ronaldo never says something is perfect.

“He works on everything.

“I watch my games every day.

“On Saturday night I went home and watched this game again to see what I did wrong, what I did well and can improve on it for the next game.

“I take a full copy of the game home on DVD.

“It's normal if you want to be at that top level.

“You have to know your game, you have to know the details of your team-mates, what you are doing on the pitch, if you are dreaming or not.

“You have to be focused.

“I also asked for another programme so I will train twice a day until Saturday so I am fit for the next game.

“I'm not wasting my time with my career right now.

“I'm 19 but I know what I want and I know what I want to realise in the future.”

Lukaku also explained his goal celebration with Peter Odemwingie after his second goal against the Mackems was in honour of the Nigeria international’s new son, Noah.

“I was just in another world when I scored - but it was for his son,” he added.
