Myhill left sweating on Hull reunion

Downing keeping keeper decision close to his chest

KEITH Downing is keeping it close to his chest whether or not Boaz Myhill will get to face his former club at The Hawthorns tomorrow.

The Baggies caretaker boss has a big selection dilemma with fit-again Ben Foster also available for selection against Hull.

But Myhill will be hoping to extend his run in the side to 15 Barclays Premier League games as he prepares to take on the Tigers, who he made 277 appearances for during a six-and-a-half year spell.

"I admire both keepers,” said Downing.

“Everyone mentions Ben because of his England interest.

“But Boaz Myhill has done exceptionally well.

“We haven't really noticed Ben being out so that's a credit to Boaz - but Ben coming back is a boost for everybody.

“They get on really well and push each other, but I will have a chat with Dean [Kiely], we will make our decision, and whichever one isn’t playing will get behind the one who is.

“Ben’s had half a game in the under 21s league and he’s trained and looked very sharp.

“He’s very keen, mentally he’s eager to come back and has an appetite for it.”
