Ladies out for Rovers revenge

Baggies looking to hit back after last-gasp heartbreak

SPORTING Club Albion Ladies suffered last-gasp heartbreak as they lost 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers Ladies on Sunday.

The game was level at the interval after both sides had created but failed to take their respective chances.

But 16 minutes from time the hosts secured all three points to leave the Baggies sixth place in the Northern Women’s Premier League.

Manager Dave Lawrence said: “It was a great game, both teams tried to play football and it was real end-to-end stuff.

“It was difficult for either side to control the game and one goal determined the outcome - and unfortunately it was for Blackburn.

“We found chances hard to come by and that’s something we’ll be working on in training.

“We’re losing games we should be picking up points from but hopefully we’ll get a few victories under our belt before Christmas.”

SCA Ladies take on Blackburn again on Sunday when they entertain them in the League Cup (ko 2pm).
