Shan's youngsters earn point at club's training ground

ALBION earned a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Barclays U18 Premier League at the club’s training ground on Saturday.

Phil Gannon was on the scoresheet just after half-time as the Baggies took the lead – but the fifth-placed Blues equalised through Chike Kandi late on.

“We were poor in the first half and we had to improve in the second,” said lead professional development coach, James Shan (pictured).

“For all their early dominance, Chelsea were unable to penetrate us.

“We were happy to go in level at the break.

“The three lads who came on at half-time helped change the game and we pressed Chelsea well in the second half.

“Over the past few weeks we’ve done particularly well in terms of results and goals conceded.”
