Albion draw Arsenal

Baggies to host Gunners in League Cup

ALBION have been drawn at home to Arsenal in the Capital One Cup third round.

The tie will be played in the week commencing September 23.

It will be the fourth time the Baggies have met the Gunners in this competition, with the previous three ties all coming in the last ten seasons – and all finishing 2-0 to the North Londoners.

The sides met at the Emirates Stadium at the same stage in 2009 when Sanchez Watt and Carlos Vela netted on a night that saw Jerome Thomas sent off for the visitors.

Three years earlier, in the same round, a Jeremie Aliadiere double saw Albion off at The Hawthorns.

And in 2003 Kanu and Aliadiere goals beat the Baggies on their own patch at the quarter-finals stage.
