SCA head to bottom-of-the-league Leicester
SPORTING Club Albion Ladies travel to FA Women’s Premier League (Northern Division) strugglers Leicester this Sunday (ko 2pm) knowing a win could see them move into the top three.
Following back-to-back wins, the Baggies are now on track for a top-four finish, with six games remaining.
And manager Dave Lawrence believes Sunday’s game will be a tough test for his side – despite the fact the Foxes have won only one game this season.
“Sunday will be another tough test as we travel to Leicester who picked up an encouraging point last week,” said Lawrence.
“It’s a game that we should be winning if we have any ambition of finishing in the top three or four.”
Albion ladies are the league’s joint-top goalscorers having netted 27 goals in ten games so far this term and Lawrence has been impressed with his side’s consistency in finding the back of the net.
“We have players who are scoring goals regularly and most of them are well-worked goals, not just set-pieces.
“The training we have put in over the past few weeks has been excellent, with good tempo to it and some good ideas.
“If we implement that on Sunday, we will get the three points.”
