SCA look to extend unbeaten run
SPORTING Club Albion Ladies will be looking to extend their five-game unbeaten run as they host second-placed Nottingham Forest on Sunday (ko 2pm).
The Baggies have won three and drawn two of their last five league games and three points this weekend could see them move back into the top three.
Manager Dave Lawrence has been impressed with his team’s recent performances and believes they have what it takes to end the season on a high.
“The run we have been on of late has been pleasing,” said Lawrence.
“You always look back and think, if only we had started better or defended better, we may have got three points instead of one.
“Overall I have been entertained by the football the girls are playing and the competition for places is keeping everyone on their toes.”
With the Birmingham County Cup final less than two weeks away, Lawrence believes it is important his side maintain their winning mentality going into the next fortnight.
“It’s important that we continue this run so we hit the cup final on a high,” he added.
“It will be tough as Forest and Wolves I’ll give us a hard time in our next 2 games, but if each player gives their all, I am sure we will be fine.”
