Harris' Paralympic hopes

Sporting Club Albion impaired-vision footballer in GB action

SPORTING Club Albion impaired-vision footballer Darren Harris will be hoping to keep his Paralympic medal dreams alive this afternoon.

The Baggies midfielder will once again be representing Great Britain in the five-a-side competition at London 2012.

After playing his part in two draws against Spain and Argentina, the 39-year-old must now help GB beat Iran in their final Preliminary Pool A game to have any chance of progressing to the semi-finals.

Argentina and Spain play first at 1.30pm, at the Riverbank Arena, with a win for either side meaning a GB victory over Iran would put them through to the last four.

Should there be a draw in the first game and GB beat Iran, there will be three teams on five points, and the top two places will be decided on goal difference, with GB currently two worse off than Argentina and Spain.
