Odemwingie starts as Clarke makes three changes

PETER Odemwingie has been recalled to Steve Clarke’s starting XI as the Baggies boss makes three changes to the side that lost 2-1 to Manchester City last weekend.

The Nigeria international, who featured as a 63rd-minute substitute in last Saturday’s defeat, replaces Marc-Antoine Fortune on Albion’s right wing.

Romelu Lukaku is handed his first start in over a month and Zoltan Gera returns in midfield as Shane Long and Claudio Yacob make way.

Long is named on Clarke’s bench, while Yacob misses out completely, after failing to recover from a knock he picked up in last week’s clash with the champions.

Alan Pardew makes one enforced change for Newcastle as James Perch replaces Cheick Tiote.

The Ivory Coast international misses the first game of a three-match suspension.
