And Albion face further doubt over Foster
ALBION have received mixed injury news ahead of Saturday’s trip to Sunderland (ko 12.45pm).Gareth McAuley (hamstring) has returned to training and is available for selection after missing his first league game of the season against Chelsea last Saturday.
But Ben Foster will sit out his third successive game following an operation on his left groin – and, after feeling further discomfort, now faces investigation on his right groin next week.
Youssouf Mulumbu (tight hamstring) will miss the Stadium of Light encounter - but Steve Clarke is hopeful he will be fit to face Swansea on Wednesday (ko 7.45pm).
“Ben won’t be fit this week,” said Clarke.
“We’re thinking he may have a similar problem on the other side now so we’ll get that checked out.
“Mulumbu won’t be fit this weekend as his tight hamstring has not really slackened off - but we’re very hopeful he’ll be fit for midweek.
“McAuley is fit; he trained today and looked good.”
Romelu Lukaku is available for selection again after being ineligible to face his parent club Chelsea last Saturday.
