It's official! Albion News best in land

Matchday programme voted best in Prem for 2012/13

THE club are delighted to announce that their matchday programme has won yet another top award.

For the second time in three years, Albion News has been named ‘Premier League Programme of the Season’ by the national memorabilia magazine Programme Monthly & Football Collectable.

Albion News is written and edited by the club’s publications editor Dave Bowler and is designed and produced by ‘Shoot The Moon’, with whom the club are in the final 12 months of a three-year contract.

The 84-page programme, which retails at £3, earned top prize thanks to its overall mark of ‘9.5 out of 10’. It was also awarded an impressive ‘9 out of 10’ for its design.

In announcing Albion News as the winner of the annual contest, which features a fans panel awarding marks for every club, Kevin Whitcher, co-editor of Programme Monthly & Football Collectable, said: “Albion News is so much more than a matchday programme.

“The programme dares to be different and produces something high and above the predictability of the format.”

Albion News beat off competition from runners-up Sunderland and Stoke to claim the top prize.

The award follows hot on the heels of Albion News being named Programme of The Year by the Midland Programme Club last season. Albion News was also voted Programme of the Year in 2010/11 by Programme Monthly and the Northern Programme Club.

And you can find out what all the fuss is about by picking up the latest edition at tomorrow’s home game against Stoke!

Issue No.9 of 2012/13 will feature an in-depth interview with skipper Chris Brunt who, if selected tomorrow, will make his 200th senior appearance for the Baggies, plus a special feature on club legend Ronnie Allen.

As well as the usual round-up of the latest match reports, action photos and club news, Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown also reflects on all things Albion in his latest column.
