Baggies centre-half converts penalty in Team GB's shootout defeat by South Korea
THERE was Olympic heartbreak for young defender Craig Dawson as Team GB lost their quarter-final clash with South Korea on penalties.
With the Cardiff clash locked at 1-1, Dawson came on in the 60th minute for the injured Micah Richards at the Millennium Stadium.
There was no further scoring after extra-time and Dawson showed nerves of steel in the shootout by calmly slotting home Team GB’s third penalty to put Stuart Pearce’s side 3-2 up.
However, Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge saw his – and Team GB’s fifth – penalty saved and South Korea, who converted all of theirs, booked a semi-final date with Brazil.
