Markus delighted with debut

Rosenberg says Albion deserve their four-point haul

DEBUTANT Markus Rosenberg was delighted he played a part in Albion’s 1-1 draw at Tottenham this afternoon.

The former Werder Bremen striker featured as a 78th-minute substitute with the Baggies continuing to surge forward in search of an equaliser.

And the 29-year-old insists the celebrations following James Morrison’s stoppage-time strike were special.

“It was great to be a part of the game and I’m glad that the goal went in while I was on the pitch," said Rosenberg.

“I’ve played in five different leagues now but the Premier League is really special.

“Tottenham are a really good side so to get a point here, one week after beating Liverpool, was excellent.

“The fans got behind us all day and they were really noisy from where I was sat on the bench.

“It was great when the goal went in and they deserved to be able to celebrate like that at the end of the game.

“I think we have earned both results and now we’re already looking forward to next week so we can show again that we are a good team.

“I can’t wait to play more football for Albion and hopefully we can continue to record positive results.”
