Gera set for international return

Long list of Baggies stars called up by countries

ALBION have had 11 senior players called up for midweek international duty in friendlies ahead of Saturday week’s Barclays Premier League opener against Liverpool (ko 3pm).

Zoltan Gera is set for his first appearance for Hungary in nine months as he puts his injury problems firmly behind him in preparation to face Israel in Budapest on Wednesday.

Shane Long and Simon Cox have been included in the Republic of Ireland squad to visit Serbia on the same night.

Chris Brunt and Gareth McAuley are set to join up with Northern Ireland for their clash with Finland in Belfast.

James Morrison and Graham Dorrans are in the Scotland party to entertain Australia in Edinburgh.

Jonas Olsson is set to report for Sweden as they prepare to take on Brazil in Stockholm, while Gabriel Tamas is due to meet up with Romania for their game against Slovenia.

And Boaz Myhill has been named in the Wales squad to entertain Bosnia Herzegovina in Llanelli.

On Tuesday night Scott Allan is set for Scotland Under-21 international duty in their game against Belgium, in Dunfermline.

*Baggies youngsters Isaiah Brown and Callum Jones are currently both on England Under-17s duty in the Nordic Tournament, in the Faroe Islands.
