West Bromwich Albion welcome QPR to The Hawthorns on Easter Monday afternoon (ko 3pm).

The Baggies, who are enjoying a 12-match unbeaten run at home in all competitions, will be determined to deliver a positive reaction to Friday's incredibly disappointing 3-1 defeat at Rotherham United.

Rangers also suffered a setback on Good Friday, losing 2-0 at home to Play-Off chasing Preston North End - a result which means they head to B71 sat just one point and one place above the Sky Bet Championship drop zone.

Our opponents

QPR have endured a miserable 2023 so far and are now in real danger of losing their Sky Bet Championship status and dropping into the third tier of English football for the first time 20 years.

Rangers, who were top of the table after 16 games in October, arrive just one point and place above the relegation zone after a poor run of form which has seen the Londoners claim just one league victory in their last 17 games.

Their 2-0 loss at Loftus Road to Preston on Friday was their fourth defeat in-a-row and ninth in their last ten Championship fixtures - an alarming record that simply has to be stopped if they are to remain in the division.

Former QPR midfielder Gareth Ainsworth was appointed their third permanent boss of the 2022/23 campaign on February 21, but the former Wycombe manager has been unable to turn results around and has seen his team lose six of the seven matches he's been in charge of.

Monday's visitors are nine without a win on their travels in all competitions and have recently lost crucial away matches at relegation rivals Rotherham United (3-1), Blackpool (6-1) and most recently Wigan (1-0).

The Londoners will be desperate to shift momentum back in their favour and drag themselves away from trouble in their remaining six games, starting at The Hawthorns.

Rangers have had a really disappointing 2023 so far

From the Albion Archive

Albion hit a sensational seven against QPR in August 2018 at The Hawthorns.

Matty Phillips (2), Jay Rodriguez (2), Kieran Gibbs, Dwight Gayle and Hal Robson-Kanu all scored at the Shrine.

Joel Lynch's goal for Rangers in the first 45 had made the scores 1-1 heading into the break, but the Baggies produced an exceptional second-half performance to record an emphatic victory.

One for the stattos

Albion have a strong home league record against Rangers and are unbeaten in their last three at The Hawthorns against Monday's visitors, scoring 11 goals in the process.

The Baggies have lost just one of their last ten league meetings with the Londoners in B71, a 4-1 setback in the Premier League in April 2015.

An image of Brandon Thomas-Asante scoring against QPR

Albion drew 2-2 with QPR in the Sky Bet Championship on Monday afternoon.

The Baggies went two-up thanks to early goals from Brandon Thomas-Asante and Semi Ajayi.

But Rangers fought back and earned a point through a Lyndon Dykes header and Chris Martin’s second-half leveller.

Carlos Corberán switched shape and brought Marc Albrighton back into his line-up for QPR’s visit, and his side made an excellent start in B71.

With only 10 minutes on the clock John Swift delivered a fantastic free-kick to the back-post, which Thomas-Asante guided home.

And Albion’s advantage was soon doubled, Ajayi converting a rebound - at the second attempt - and netting his first of the season in the process.

Midway through the period QPR halved the deficit, though, thanks to Dykes’ well-placed header.

The teams then exchanged good opportunities ahead of the interval, captain Conor Townsend side-footing a shot narrowly wide before, down the other end, Jimmy Dunne nodded one just past the post.

Rangers found a leveller straight after half-time when Martin closed down Josh Griffiths’ clearance and diverted the ball into the net.

The boss responded and brought on Tom Rogic, Karlan Grant, Daryl Dike and, in a welcome return from injury, Jayson Molumby.

Grant sent a half-volley wide as Albion spent long periods with the ball but failing to create too many chances.

QPR might have stolen the victory late on, substitutes Taylor Richards and Andre Dozzell both seeing efforts go close, yet in the end the points were shared.

Albion: Griffiths; Furlong, Ajayi, Pieters, Townsend; Chalobah (Molumby 76), Gardner-Hickman (Rogic 61); Wallace, Swift, Albrighton (Grant 62); Thomas-Asante (Dike 76).

Substitutes: Palmer, Ingram, Andrews.
