Albion News artist captures Foundation 'spirit'

Albion News cover artist Liam Harris has come up with a memorable image to help us celebrate Foundation Day at this weekend’s clash against Cardiff City.

Dudley-born Baggies fan Liam, a freelance animation director, is the talent behind this season’s matchday programme imagery featuring comic book representations of the Baggies stars.

But for Saturday’s annual Albion Foundation Day fixture, which sees the Club throw the spotlight on its acclaimed charity arm, Liam switched his focus to all-conquering powerchair team and their captain Chris Gordon.

The result (pictured here) is a collectors' item and helps us pay tribute to the Foundation heroes who are out in the community every day to provide support and inspiration where it is most needed.

The Foundation is using the Cardiff fixture to launch a fundraising drive for the purchase of a specialised minibus to transport Chris and his team mates around the country.

Liam said: "The challenge for me with this week's cover was showcasing the spirit and passion that our Powerchair team have for the game.

"Not only that but their successes within the sport has been nothing short of brilliant which is why I opted to include their recent silverware held by Chris.”

The Foundation staff are asking Albion fans to bring “a pound to the ground” for their bucket collections on Saturday and the Club will match and donate whatever the figure collected.

Albion’s match-worn shirts, signed by the players, will also be up for auction after the game - we’ll give you further details of how to bid later.
