ALBION’s under-18s succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Mike Scott’s side found themselves a goal down early on when Joe Ridley struck to put Boro ahead inside two minutes.
Middlesbrough then doubled their lead just before the hour mark through Gabriel McGill - but the Baggies found a response 10 minutes later thanks to Harry Williams.
Despite giving handing themselves that lifeline and trying to apply late pressure to the away side, Albion were unable to find an equaliser and were left empty handed at the Palm Training Ground.
ALBION: Griffiths, Delaney, Empoon, Sharpe (Thorndike 59), Williams; Wakeling (Ojebode 81), Brown, Ashton (King 71), Taylor, Gardner-Hickman; Soule.
