SCOTT Carson became the first Albion player to win an England cap in almost a quarter of a century.
The then-Baggies goalkeeper came on as a second half substitute in the 2-1 win over Germany in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
Carson’s selection between the posts brought to an end a wait of over 24 years for Albion to produce another England international, Steve Hunt being the previous one, back in June 1984.
