ONE of the greatest players ever to represent the Throstles, left-back Derek Statham made his debut at Stoke City’s Victoria Ground and announced the arrival of a major talent by scoring in the 2-0 victory, John Trewick getting the other goal.
Statham played 378 games for the club, scoring 10 times.
