Pulis hails players' resilience

TONY Pulis hailed his players’ resilience after the Baggies made it six points out of six - and no goals conceded - with victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Substitute Hal Robson-Kanu struck a 71st match-winner before being shown a red card six minutes from time following an aerial challenge on Burnley defender Matthew Lowton.

But Albion saw the game out with same defiance that epitomised their entire performance to win the opening two games of a Premier League campaign for the first time.

“I can’t praise the players enough,” said a satisfied head coach after watching his team take up a place among the early points gatherers.

“We came here with four top players unavailable because of injury and really had to dig in to get our result.

“What Burnley do they do very well and you never get an easy game here. When Hal left the pitch they threw everything at us and made it as difficult as possible for us.

“But the spirit these lads have to help each other and fight for each other is second to none. They deserve tremendous credit.”
