Albion Foundation heads down under

International Programme continues to grow

THE Albion Foundation’s International Programme continued its expansion as three academy coaches flew to Australia on Friday.

Adrian Dove, Liam Wall and Lawrence Roberts embarked on a three-week training camp which will see them work with aspiring footballers and coaches across the country.

The trip comes on the same weekend fellow coaches Dave Lawrence and Sam Whitmore returned home from Delhi after their involvement with the ‘Pass it Forward’ initiative.

The visit to India was the Foundation’s third, run in partnership with Youth Football International (YFI), West Bromwich Albion FC and The University of Wolverhampton, and emphasised its continued efforts to positively impact the development of young people overseas.

This latest venture across the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne is yet another example of how The Albion Foundation’s international focus continues to influence the lives of thousands of children through football.

And Sports Development Manager Lawrence has been pleased with progress so far.

“India is an emerging footballing nation and the Indian Government is very passionate in its efforts to improve the standard of the sport from the bottom up," he said.

“Australia is equally committed to its footballing development and offers an interesting addition to our programme.

“All of our international visits have proved to be very successful with the local participants and, by visiting as West Bromwich Albion, it’s incredible to see the level of support for the Baggies."
