Fans' champions for Swansea confirmed

Youngsters to present matchball

ALBION’s Under-13s will be the Fans’ Champions for Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Swansea City at The Hawthorns (ko 8pm).

The young Baggies have the honour of presenting the matchball pre-match after winning the Premier League Truce tournament in Belgium at the weekend.

The competition is held annually to remember the famous Christmas Day Truce match during the First World War and many of Europe’s top clubs participate.

Having previously qualified in the UK, our boys delivered a memorable performance with four victories and a draw at the finals.

They scored 15 goals and conceded just twice during a tournament which climaxed with their 3-0 defeat of Metz in the final.

Earlier, they drew 1-1 with Chelsea before beating Hertha Berlin 2-1 and Valenciennes 6-0 to set up a semi-final which saw Albion defeat Fulham 2-0.

The Baggies were led by an eight-goal personal haul from Rico Richards and three each from Reyes Cleary and Jack Powell.
