Fanzone: Back with a bang for 2016/17

Full lowdown on Saturday's line-up in the Fanzone (open from 12noon)

IT’S back Baggies fans - our Fanzone will launch a new season of Premier League football at The Hawthorns on Saturday with a re-visit to last season's opening day.

We're delighted to confirm that The Twang's Albion-daft lead guitar ace Stuart Hartland has again rounded up his pals from former chart-toppers Musical Youth to provide the live entertainment in our new Fanzone, sponsored by Carling.

Stuart and band leader Dennis Seaton have been busy this week getting a set together which, if it's half as enjoyable as last year's, will ensure the pre-match entertainment gets off to a start so good you could stick a Rondon goal on the end and call it three points at Selhurst Park.

"It was a real thrill to launch the Fanzone last year and when I mentioned to Dennis the chance to do it again he was immediately up for it," says Stuart.

"We'll see if we can pull off one or two surprises again - although I'll be amazed if we don't hear The Liquidator at some point.

"I think the Fanzone has been really appreciated by the fans and its certainly been well supported.”

All of last season’s popular features return - with the big screen providing live action from Stoke City v Manchester City (12.30pm).

For those who are up to it, there will be a Bucking Bronco, an inflatable slide to keep the youngsters happy and all the regular licensed outlets available for refreshments.

And if that's not enough to whet the appetite, Baggies fans can also look forward to a guest appearance on stage from the one and only Brendon Batson.

The Fanzone opens from 12noon. See you there on Saturday!
