Danks accepts exciting new role at the FA

Danks to work alongside England men's development teams

ALBION Academy Coach Aaron Danks has been recruited by the FA for a new job at St George’s Park.

Danks, the Baggies Professional Development Coach, has been named in one of six key roles to work alongside the England men’s development teams.

He will support the national coaches at every level from Men’s U15s to Men’s U21s, working as valuable members of the various teams’ coaching staff.

Danks has worked his way through a variety of Academy roles in a six-year association and has most recently been focused working with the Club’s Under-18 group.

Richard Garlick, Albion’s Director of Football Administration, said Danks leaves with the Club’s best wishes.

“Aaron’s career has blossomed through various levels of the Academy towards his most recent role,” said Garlick.

“He is highly regarded and we are sorry to see him go but we naturally wish him well in his future career.”

Danks said: “It was an opportunity I could not resist but I am sorry to be leaving Albion.

“The Academy’s record speaks for itself and I know I am leaving behind a fantastic group of promising footballers. To see Jonathon Leko, Tyler Roberts and Sam Field all in recent first team squads fills everyone with pride.

“I have got a feeling I will continue to see plenty of young Albion players in sessions at St George’s Park.

“It has been a wonderful club to work for and I take away with me a bank of great memories.”
