Chris Lepkowski joins Albion media department

Former Birmingham Mail journalist joins club

West Bromwich Albion today confirm the appointment of well-known local journalist Chris Lepkowski to the club’s media department.

Chris, formerly Albion correspondent at the Birmingham Mail for the previous 13 years, begins in his new role of Head of Media Content today.

His arrival continues a re-structure of the club’s media department which began with the appointment of Martin Swain as Director of Communications.

Chris will now oversee a media department of Drew Williams, who has taken up the role of Chief Reporter, Ian Skidmore, who is now head of Audio-Visual content, while Dave Bowler, long-standing editor of the club’s multi award-winning matchday programme, continues as Publications Editor.

Gez Mulholland, who is a former Academy player at the club before switching to media studies, has also been appointed Media Support Officer.

Martin says: “Chris’s arrival brings to the department a highly-regarded local journalist steeped in Albion traditions. We are delighted to welcome him aboard.

“We are planning significant changes and a major re-launch of the club’s media service very shortly which we are confident supporters will appreciate and build with us. Chris will play an invaluable role in that process.”

Chris has written extensively on the club throughout its transformation from Championship strugglers to now enjoying a fifth successive Premier League campaign.

His book “In Pastures Green”, published in 2012 and telling the story of Albion during the 2000s, proved a big favourite which underwent two re-prints.
