Stat attack: Brunt leads from front

WhoScored take a look at the facts and figures from Fulham draw

AFTER Saturday's stalemate with Fulham, football statistics website WhoScored.com reflect on a fourth successive Barclays Premier League 1-1 draw on home soil for the Baggies.

Albion dominated their clash with the Cottagers in the second half but were unable to make their superiority count.

But Pepe Mel’s men yet again showed fantastic resilience and belief to battle back from behind at half-time for the fourth time in as many Hawthorns encounters under his charge.

Albion's unbeaten league streak on home turf has stretched to a hugely impressive six games, a tally only three teams can currently top, and only six sides - Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton and Stoke - have bettered at any stage this season.

As has been the way for the Baggies in recent seasons, the team created many of their chances on the break, with the WhoScored match report detailing they 'were effective at creating goalscoring opportunities from counter attacks'. Also noted is the fact Albion 'played with width' and 'favoured crossing the ball', so it is no surprise to see Chris Brunt come off the pitch with an impressive rating of 7.3.

The Northern Ireland international has been a mainstay for Albion for a number of years now. His consistent performances over the past two seasons have seen him develop no fewer than six statistically calculated strengths on WhoScored.com, as detailed in the above image.

He took the man-of-the-match honours on Saturday, and yet his highly impressive rating of 7.33 was his lowest in his last six appearances.

The Baggies skipper will continue to be key in the run in, and so will Albion's steadfast home form. Three of the top seven and an improving Fulham, who have recently come close to beating both Manchester United and Liverpool, have failed to win at The Hawthorns under Mel's guidance.
