Foster named in England squad

Baggies also have eight other players involved in international action

BEN Foster has been named in Roy Hodgson’s England squad to face Scotland in an international friendly at Wembley on Wednesday, August 14 (ko 8pm).

James Morrison and Graham Dorrans have been included in Gordon Strachan’s 29-man outfit as the two sides prepare for their first meeting in almost 14 years.

They are three of nine Baggies players involved with their countries on the same night. 

Shane Long will also go head to head with an Albion keeper when the Republic of Ireland play Chris Coleman’s Wales, who have Boaz Myhill in their ranks, at Cardiff City Stadium. 

Saido Berahino has been named in an England U21 squad for the first time - as they also host Scotland at Bramall Lane on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).  

Jonas Olsson will join up with Sweden for their friendly with Norway in Solna.

Gareth McAuley is set to report for Northern Ireland duty for their World Cup Group F qualifier against Russia at Windsor Park. 

Uruguay skipper Diego Lugano has been named in a squad to face Japan in Saitama.

The Baggies’ second summer signing has already captained his country on 77 occasions – more than any other player.
