Keeper backs club to bring in right players this summer
BEN Foster hopes Albion continue with their 'evolution-not-revolution' policy this summer as they look to build on the progress made over the past three seasons.
The Baggies are on course to record their highest-ever Barclays Premier League finish after prudently strengthening the squad last summer.
And 30-year-old Foster believes the club should stick to the quality-rather-than-quantity approach that has seen them improve year-on-year when they begin preparing for a fourth successive top-flight campaign.
He said: “I’m curious about the summer - and it’s the same for the fans as well."
Foster then quipped: “The fans probably think we can bring ten or 12 different players in with the new TV deal!
"There’s going to be a lot more money being pumped into the Premier League next season but you don’t want to go crazy.
"You don’t want to add too many players because you might upset the good balance that we’ve got going at the minute.
“I’m sure the gaffer will be sensible and maybe add three, four or five faces."
Foster believes there is a real air of stability around The Hawthorns.
“West Brom have always been good at recruiting players that are good lads," he added.
“We’re a liked football club and that goes for everybody throughout the whole set-up - from the canteen staff right through the rest of the club.
“It’s the same with the players.
"The club always do a lot of background checks on transfer targets to make sure they’ll fit in well.
“We’ve got quite a settled team at the minute, which is nice.
“We know what to expect from each other and that’s going to help us going forward.
“It’s up to the manager whether or not he wants to add to the squad and, if he does, what sort of players he wants to bring in.
“I’m sure we’ll roll with that because we trust him.
"The players we brought in earlier in the season have been good acquisitions.
“We trust him to do the same again next season.”
