Lincoln 1 Albion Women 2

16 September 2019

Albion Women began their bid to retain their FA Women's National League Plate crown with a 2-1 win at Lincoln.

Louis Sowe’s side notched a third consecutive win to proceed to the next round of the competition, despite going behind to an early goal.

Albion dominated possession in the first half but failed to create any meaningful chances. However, after the break the Baggies improved and were rewarded with two goals in five minutes.

Jade Arber latched on to a cross and chipped the ‘keeper to score her sixth goal in as many games before Natalie Murray finished from inside the box to put Albion ahead following a Hannah George corner.

The Baggies continued to create chances after taking the lead, and progressed to the next stage of the competition despite not extending their advantage.

ALBION: Kinnerley, Jewitt (Gallop 68), George, Orthodoxou, Elsmore, Baines, Murray, Nymoen (Edwards 70), Arber (Reid 78), K Davies, Stamps (J Davies 65).
