Albion scrap fees on digital tickets

Albion have scrapped transaction fees for supporters buying tickets using digital and print-at-home options.

The Club will be absorbing the £1.25-per-transaction charge in an initiative designed to ease matchday queues and congestion in the Hawthorns’ ticket office.

Albion hope the move will encourage more fans to adopt the print-at-home and digital ticket options and reduce the collection queues in the build-up to home fixtures.

Operations Director Mark Miles said: “The congestion around the ticket office as we head towards kick off on match days is something which has troubled us and we hope supporters will appreciate that it makes more sense than ever to use the on-line and digital options.

“The booking fee has always been a charge against the Club by the ticketing company and that remains. But we have opted to absorb it in the hope that our fans will be encouraged to use these options.”

Albion point out that the booking fee will still apply to away or travel tickets or home tickets that are posted or collected.

And the £1.25 charge remains for supporters who choose the digital or print-at-home options but do not utilise it and attend the ticket office for a paper printed ticket.
