Semi Ajayi helped his country to a 2-1 win against Benin as Nigeria opened their qualifying campaign for AFCON 2021 with a victory.
Despite former Albion player Stephane Sessegnon firing Benin ahead after three minutes, the Super Eagles fought back to claim all three points.
Victor Osimhen netted a penalty just before half-time and Samuel Kalu scored shortly after the hour mark to complete Nigeria’s comeback.
Ajayi almost got on the scoresheet in the second half from a rebound after a Kalu free-kick.
