Montero excited to join promotion charge

Jefferson Montero set his sights on helping Albion achieve promotion back to the Premier League after sharing his delight at joining the Club.

The Ecuadorian winger, signed from Swansea City on loan for the rest of the season, will provide further options for Darren Moore’s attack.

And Montero says Albion’s head coach made it an easy decision to join the Baggies.

“I’ve joined because there is a big possibility for more action and more play, and it’s a big club with the possibility of next season being in the Premier League,” he said.

“We finished the last game against Birmingham City and my agent called me, and we made the decision.

“There’s an opportunity to help the team achieve promotion to the Premier League.

“There is a good manager, good players, a good group of staff and the support is very good.

“I’ve played at The Hawthorns before in the Premier League, and there was very good support.

“I’ve spoken to the manager, and my first impression is that he’s opened the door for me here, and he seems nice and very good.

“I’ve not played too much at Swansea because I had an injury but I feel 100 per cent now.

“It’s difficult for a description of me!

“I am quick, I like to try and beat players in a one-v-one or a one-v-two. I like to create chances for the strikers, and I like to attack the goal.

“There is only one objective, and that is promotion to the Premier League for next season.”
