Changes to pre-match, travel at The Hawthorns

Albion will launch a new season at The Hawthorns with a fresh drive to lure fans into the stadium earlier.

The Baggies will trial the start of a new home campaign without the Fanzone but with pre-match special offers in an effort to build up the atmosphere inside the ground.

Chief Commercial Officer Simon King said: “It is noticeable how much improved the atmosphere is when fans arrive at the stadium earlier and in light of that we will be putting on some fantastic offers in the hope we can get our supporters through the turnstiles earlier.

“This is not the end of the FanZone - we are trialling an initiative for the start of the season in the hope it will be received positively.”

The offers will be active between 1.30pm and 2.15pm starting with Peaky Blinder beer from our partners Sadler’s available at £2 a can along with hot food and child-friendly items being made available throughout the season.

Live football will be available on the concourse TVs while Albion have plans to introduce other entertainment as the season continues.

However, the Club has decided to end the Hawthorns Express home coach travel service after numbers declined to an unsustainable level.

The coaches were used by fans coming in from Worcester, Droitwich and Bromsgove, Tamworth and Lichfield and Stafford and Cannock but the service has been running at a loss for many years and declining numbers have made its continuation unviable.
