The Albion Foundation’s Ambassador and fundraising icon, ‘Blind Dave’ Heeley, experienced a day to remember at the EFL Season Launch 2019/20.

Hosted at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, the event featured representatives from each of the 72 Football League clubs, as they raised the excitement in the build-up to the new season.

Dave starred in the official launch video, as well as taking centre stage in an EFL Trust piece alongside other community figures from around the country.

The day was an insight into how clubs from across the nation can come together to raise the profile of the beautiful game.

In what was a memorable day for Dave, his lasting memory will be the sense of pride he felt as he represented West Bromwich Albion and its official charity.

“It’s always a pleasure to represent the Club and the Foundation, it’s every fan’s dream isn’t it?” said Dave.

“To don a shirt, stand on that pitch and have your picture taken is a privilege,” he beamed.

Dave also took time to look forward to the upcoming nine months and has high hopes for a successful season for the Baggies.

“I’m going to turn round and say that we’re going to win the Championship!

“We’ve got as good a chance as anybody. Let’s see if we can get back into the promised land and the Premier League,” Dave concluded.
