Jimmy Cookson became the only Albion player ever to score six goals in a league fixture as he posted a double hat-trick in the 6-3 win over Blackpool at The Hawthorns.
It was a vintage season for Cookson who scored 38 goals in the league, also a record for the Baggies, though that was to be surpassed in 1935/36 when WG Richardson managed 39.
