Mozza: ‘Togetherness’ carried us through

JAMES Morrison believes squad unity led Albion to a precious victory over Ipswich Town on Friday evening.

Jay Rodriguez and Harvey Barnes fired the visitors into a two-goal lead at Portman Road before Kayden Jackson’s 85th-minute strike set up a nervy finish.

And Mozza was delighted his side held firm to leave Suffolk with all three points.

“It certainly was [an important three points],” he nodded.

“You always want to start well and put a marker down for the rest of the teams watching tonight.

“I thought it was a hard-fought victory and that’s pleasing.

“We were in control and we could have had three or four on another occasion.

“The Leeds game set us up and that togetherness brought us through in the last five minutes here.

“In recent times we’ve conceded there but we were solid as a rock tonight."

On a personal note, our long-serving midfielder put in another impressive showing as he continues to produce some of his best form of recent times.

He added: “It’s nice to be with the lads, coming off the pitch winning.

“I do feel like there’s still more to come but I’m really enjoying being back involved and fighting to get back to the Premier League.

“Fitness-wise I feel great. I’m lasting the 90 minutes with plenty of energy left.

“There’s stuff to my game that’s coming back slowly. I know it’ll come, I’m not getting frustrated.”
