Moore delivers honest assessment

DARREN Moore admitted his side dropped below the standards set of themselves as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Hull City.

Fraizer Campbell’s first-half strike was the difference at The KCOM Stadium leaving the Baggies without a win in four games in the Sky Bet Championship.

“The performance was well below par,” Darren said.

“We’ve dropped below the standards we’ve set of ourselves in recent weeks.

“It’s not acceptable.

“For whatever reason we didn’t reach the heights that we have before.

“Hull were very disciplined and resolute in holding on to the lead when they got it.

“I’ll analyse things fully tomorrow.

“I know you get games like this - you can never predict what’s out there - but I didn’t see that performance coming.”

The gaffer’s attention now turns to a clash with Leeds United at The Hawthorns in a week’s time.

He added: “We have to [pick ourselves up].

“We know what this division is all about.

“Teams will hit highs and lows.

“The only way we can deal with it is by getting back to work on Monday morning.”
