Blackburn U18s 4 Albion U18s 1

ALBION's youngsters suffered a 4-1 defeat away to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

First-half goals from Vilius Piliukaitis and Jack Vale did the damage for a strong Blackburn side who dominated the majority of the play in the opening period.

Albion's best chance came just before the break via a Jamie Soule strike which produced a fine save from the Blackburn goalkeeper.

The second half saw Albion start brightly and looked like they would get back in the game before Vale struck again to make it 3-0 in the 62nd minute.

Finley Thorndike scored moments later to hand the Baggies a reprieve before Soule again came close to reducing arreas.

But Rovers put the game out of reach with 15 minutes to play after a superb long-range strike from George Wilson.

ALBION: Cann, Williams (King 65), Delaney, Empoon, (Thorndike 45), Sharpe, Taylor, Ashton, Brown, Soule, Gardiner-Hickman, Wakeling (Ojebode 68).
