Young Baggie called up for Croatia camp

England are all set for a re-match with Croatia in the days ahead - and an Albion starlet will be at the heart of the action.

Rising Academy attacker Louie Barry has been selected for the England under-16s training camp in Zagreb, which will include a double-header against Croatia.

It’s not the first time that he's been chosen to represent his country, having featured in a tournament in Italy last May when he notably netted 10 times for England’s under-15s.

Fellow youngster Rico Richards was also due to go away with the Young Lions, but has unfortunately had to pull out because of injury.

“We are delighted that Louie has been called up again,” said Head of Academy Mark Harrison.

“It’s a great reflection of all his hard work and also his parents’ commitment in supporting him.

“We believe that international football is a great opportunity to develop further and enhance education.

“We are very proud of him, especially as he has been with the Academy since under nine level.

"It's obviously a shame that Rico can't make it, but it was great he received that initial call-up and we are sure he'll have other opportunities in the future."

Good luck, Louie!
