Jake Livermore's post-Barnsley reaction

WITH just ten days to go until the start of the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship season, Jake Livermore thinks Albion are shaping up nicely.

Speaking after the Baggies' 3-2 win at Oakwell, Jake said Darren Moore's men had "ticked all the boxes" of a pre-season friendly.

"It was another good workout," he nodded.

"They've all been difficult opposition that we've had.

"Barnsley were really at it today to be fair to them and it was a good test for us.

"It's about good habits, getting fitness and getting through unscathed and uninjured so I think we ticked all the boxes tonight."

Our England man must feel like he's had a pretty short summer break, returning to domestic duty just weeks after training with the Three Lions' squad ahead of their 2018 Word Cup adventure.

But rest assured, he'll be ready and raring to go. And now's the time to focus on the "finer details" of Darren Moore's preparation.

He added: "I'm getting there. We've got two weeks now until the start of the season so I'll get another good week's training in and go from there.

"It's becoming real now. We've got base fitness in, base structure and formation.

"Now it's about the finer details."
