Two more old heroes to receive caps

ALBION will continue their presentation of unique club caps for all first-team players when two more old favourites grace The Hawthorns tomorrow.

The Baggies will welcome Gary Robson (552) and Carlton Palmer (567) on to the pitch during the half-time interval to receive their Throstle-embroidered caps which bears each player's unique numerical position in the order of first-team selection since the Club's founding days.

Gary, the younger brother of his fellow Albion midfielder Bryan, was a stalwart figure who made more than 200 appearances for the Baggies during an 11-year spell in one of the more difficult eras for the Club between 1982-93.

Carlton was a team mate for part of that spell as he racked up 121 appearances between 1984-89 before earning a £750,000 move to Saturday's opponents Sheffield Wednesday.

Albion have been offering the chance to make the presentation to supporters who watched these old heroes from the Hawthorns sidelines and tomorrow's honours go to Baggies fan Derek Poulton.
