Rodriguez: Points matter most

JAY Rodriguez saluted Albion's first victory of the season after a seven-goal thriller at Norwich City.

The Albion marksman bagged a brace in the 4-3 triumph at Carrow Road, with Harvery Barnes and Hal Robson-Kanu getting in on the act in Norfolk.

Baggies stopper Sam Johnstone crucially saved a first-half penalty from Jordan Rhodes, who had earlier opened the scoring, before Teemu Pukki and then Grant Hanley set up a tense finale.

But Albion held firm to claim their first Sky Bet Championship spoils of the campaign.

"To come away with three points, that's the main thing for us," said Jay.

"To get our first win, especially to come here, away from home, we knew it was going to be difficult but we would like to keep it a little bit easier.

"It's always nice to score and to help the team and I did think we deserved the win in the end."

It was the second time in five days Albion came from behind to secure reward after their 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest in midweek.

Rodriguez added: "We've never doubted we have the character in the dressing room and throughout the team and staff, everyone believes we've got that character.

"It's just a case of getting back to work on Monday, putting a few things right and keep working.

"We're still learning, the Championship is an incredibly difficult league. A lot of teams here are fighting for the same thing.
"It's something we are learning but we want to make sure we keep getting these wins."
