'It's a feather in our cap' - Phillips

MATT Phillips has called on his team-mates to build on the momentum gained from earning three victories in the space of a week.

The Baggies grabbed 12 goals against Norwich, Luton and Queens Park Rangers - winning all three games in the process.

And Phillips, who has already netted three from the right wing, says continuing that run of form in the “relentless” Sky Bet Championship requires them to stay focussed.

“We need to keep the momentum going now,” said the Scotland international.

“To score that many goals is definitely a feather in our cap.

“It’s early days and this league is relentless so we will need to keep working hard to get the rewards that we did on Saturday.

“We’ve been working hard on a new formation and obviously some new lads have come in this season as well so it’s a step in the right direction.

“As long as we keep trying to do the right things, hopefully we will get the rewards.”

He added: “Yeah, I feel I’m in a good place. I had a good pre-season - it’s the first time in two or three years that I’ve had a full pre-season.

“I’m really enjoying my football and there’s a real buzz around the place.”
