Pulis considers squad flexibility

TONY Pulis has praised the flexibility of his squad ahead of a return to Premier League action against Leicester City on Monday night.

The Albion boss has employed his players in a number of styles and formations in the opening couple of months this season, and has been encouraged by how they have adapted to it.

“We’re just waiting for Oliver Burke, Nacer Chadli and a few others to come back and then trying to fit it all together,” said Pulis.

“I have something in my mind that I think will suit everybody with five at the back or with four at the back.

“We can, with the squad we’ve got now, be that flexible. We’ve done bits and pieces on the training ground on it, and the players have linked into it pretty well.”

Pulis also spoke about the strength of Monday’s opposition who, despite their league position, are yet to lose to a team that finished outside the top six last season this time around.

“On Monday night I’m looking forward to going over there to play in what we know will be a competitive game.

“From the times we’ve played them we know they’ve got some top players. On their day they’ve proven they can beat anybody so we need to make sure we’re prepared properly and that we concentrate on what we can do.

“I think if you look at them, with Kasper Schmeichel, Wes Morgan and people all through the backbone of that team, they’ve been exceptional. Jamie Vardy has obviously played an important part, as all good goal scorers do.
