ALBION are reminding supporters that selling on tickets for Friday’s Premier League clash against Chelsea is a zero tolerance offence which will lead to a ban from The Hawthorns.
The clash, which would see Chelsea crowned Premier League champions if they were to beat the Baggies, has sparked extraordinary interest from at home and abroad.
Chelsea’s 2,773 allocation is sold out and there has also been a significant surge in home sales in the last 36 hours for the 8pm kick-off clash being shown live on Sky Sports.
Baggies officials have spotted tickets for the home areas being made available for sale both on social media and online websites and Chief Executive Martin Goodman is warning Albion fans not to breach stadium regulations and ticketing conditions.
“The safety of everyone in the stadium is of paramount importance to the Club and the prospect of tickets for the home ends being sold on to Chelsea supporters is of obvious concern to us,” he said.
“Tickets will not go on general sale and only be sold to supporters with a proven booking history with our club.
“We have no official ticket-selling partner and it is an offence for any home end tickets to be sold on. We will display zero-tolerance with anyone who is found to have broken the law in this way.
“Any fans clearly identified as Chelsea supporters in the home sections will be ejected. This is for everyone’s safety and security. We have the prospect of a dramatic and exciting night at The Hawthorns which we all want to enjoy.
“The last thing we want is for the occasion to be soured by safety and security issues.”
